Preparing to go to work
Marianne McElheron started out in her new position on October 2 and is well into her induction, during which she's assuming tasks from Winnie Fedders, who has chosen to step down from the management role to instead leverage her extensive expertise as a QHSES specialist within BSB Industry.
- As part of my induction, it's crucial for me to get to understand the standards, the culture at BSB, and the products, says Marianne McElheron.
Her BSB Industry colleagues play an essential role in this process.
- My new colleagues have been incredibly welcoming. They're assisting in introducing me to BSB's professional language and equipping me with product and system knowledge. Their willingness to help me is palpable, and the positive work environment, where one can count on team members and where we support each other to achieve our goals, is evident anywhere you go within the company, she adds.
- In terms of leadership, my new colleagues will find that I operate with a holistic mindset. For instance, I frequently visit the production floor, where I engage with team members, observe their workflows and challenges, and gather their improvement ideas. Cross-functional collaboration and diversity pave the way for sustainable solutions, believes Marianne McElheron.
