With large and significant investments in the past year, BSB Industry Poland is working purposefully to ensure and maintain a high uniform quality in products and services. New, strategic thinking lies behind new practices that enable the company to do things smarter today than management and employees used to do them yesterday.

Przemysław Majewski, General Manager of BSB Industry's Polish branch, is adamant about the importance of delivering quality to customers.

Smart scanning system ensures quality and traceability

The investment in a new, smart and intelligent scanning system is one of several important steps BSB Industry Poland has taken to ensure and maintain quality.

- When one of our skilled employees starts a task, first thing he does is scan it into the system. When he is done, similarly he logs it out. This way the system provides us with valuable traceability, just as we can continuously monitor time consumption and efficiency, explains Przemysław Majewski.

He emphasizes that it is not about monitoring employees or putting undue pressure on them.

- Instead it's about us mastering a tool that can make us a notch sharper productionwise, so that quality is always tops and work processes are always optimised. In short, we learn where to intervene, if processes do not run like clockwork.

Investments in machinery and people

The new, smart scanning system is just one of several new initiatives taken by BSB Industry Poland. In addition, also deserving mention, is the Andon system, a new plasma cutter, a "mirror" that reminds employees about who are responsible for quality, robotic welders and advanced platforms for welding.

- We have purchased a number of new platforms for welding. They can be set and adjusted at all possible heights and angles, thus providing a better working environment. Our welders get better working positions, enabling them to perform the welding work faster and with better quality, explains Przemysław Majewski, who is pleased that the investments represent a win win for all parties.

- At BSB Industry Poland, we put great emphasis on a good, safe and secure workplace. For example, our new robotic welders will do a lot of the monotonous work for us and free up our highly skilled welders for more demanding tasks.

- It is also worth mentioning that our employees, as a feature in the new system, can find working drawings with just a few clicks. This adds to work processes going smoothly, just as those employees working with the Andon system get necessary help and support faster than before, if, for example, missing materials or if they have technical challenges with their task.
